About Blue Rooster Farms, An Alabama Flower Farm
2026 U-pick Season begins May 2026. We are a small scale, locally grown, specialty cut flower u-pick farm owned by Kirk and Allison. We are located in Shelby County -just down the road from Birmingham, Al. We grow 30 to 40 different varieties of flowers a year which means at any given time we have over 10,000 plants in the ground. We plan what is grown at least a year in advance so there is enough time to order the seeds and prep the soil properly.
All our flowers are nurtured with sustainable practices, without the use of synthetic chemicals and always with our customers in mind. We are growing joy one flower at a time.

Absolutely beautiful place! The farm is beautiful, you feel completely welcomed the moment you step out of your car. Kurt was incredibly kind and greeted us with a smile then took us on a tour of where and what to pick. We spent about an hour wondering the gardens snipping and snapping some pictures and just giggling and enjoying the simple joy of it. We can’t wait to come back next month for the next season of blooms.

Allison at Blue Rooster Farms created our STUNNING wedding ceremony florals. From the very beginning, Allison was incredibly transparent with her pricing and had beautiful images of her work. We appreciated her prompt communication, attention to detail, and kindness throughout the entire process. We were absolutely blown away by the floral arrangements at the church, and Allison was even so kind to offer to take them to my childhood home afterwards. The quality of her florals is amazing, and we are still getting to enjoy some of her blooms almost a whole week later! We also absolutely LOVE that this is a local Alabama farm. We cannot wait to go by soon for a u pick day! Highly recommend to anyone looking for floral arrangements for weddings or other events!!

Exceptional experience. I was able to schedule my appointment on the calendar on their website. You get to walk through the fields of flowers and pick your own to make a bouquet to take home. Picking season around beginning of May until mid June depending on weather. The owner was gracious, orienting me to the farm and explaining all the flowers. They provided plyers, cups for the flowers, and water. I took my time enjoyed the fields and picked my flowers. The property was easy to get to from Google maps GPS, parking was easy, signs made everything easy to navigate and comfortable. Not to far outside of Birmingham, Alabama City limits. Highly recommend!! 👍🏾💐🫶🏾

Allison and her team at Blue Rooster Farms created the most beautiful floral arrangements for our wedding in April 2023. Working with her was so easy! We were blown away by how amazing all of the floral details turned out.
